Haiku Walk in the Park

Join Park Ranger Volunteer, Certified Poetry Facilitator and member of the NC Haiku Society, Judy Schattner for a Haiku Walk at the 221 Access of New River State Park. This unique program will give you the opportunity to take a silent nature walk, use your senses in great detail, then return and write your very own Haiku. A short demonstration will be given before the walk, followed by time to write and even share your poem if you choose. Meet at the Visitor Center. The program will last approximately two hours. Please bring a writing pad and pen and wear sturdy shoes. The program is free and for ages 12 and up. No haikus will be critiqued. 336-982-2587
